Obituary of Helen Rimkus

Kernersville-Helen Ivan Rimkus, 89, passed away February 4, 2012. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00AM Thursday February 9, 2012 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Paul Dechant O.S.F.S. officiating. Interment will be Monday February 13, 2012 at Saint Nicholas Catholic Cemetery in Perth Amboy, N.J. A native of Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Mary and Michael Ivan. She worked for over 40 years at the Sunshine Biscuit Factory and met her future husband there. She shared many years with so many special friends she made at Sunshine Biscuits. Her husband, Leonas Rimkus, died October 28, 2001. Although no children of her own, Helen thoroughly enjoyed treating her nieces, nephews, and their children as her own. Survivors which include the family she loved so much sisters Anne Ujhazi, and Elizabeth Zrelack; nieces and nephews include Monica Stracuzzi, Arlene Viviano, Peter and John Kanuck, Stephen, Gregory, Michael, and Vincent John Baltrusitis; and numerous grand and great nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family will visit with friends from 10:00AM until time for the service at the church and also will visit following the service in Salesian Hall.
