Obituary of Waverly Bradshaw

Kernersville-W. Daniel Bradshaw, Jr., 67, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2012. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 3:00PM Monday March 26, 2012 at Main Street United Methodist Church with Pastor Dr. Jeff Patterson, Rev. Dale Hilton, and Rev. Rick Carter officiating. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow in the church columbarium. A native of Pearisburg, Virginia, "Dan" was the son of the late Celia Ann Shumate and Waverly Daniel Bradshaw. He graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, later Virginia Tech University, in the Cadet Corp. He served his country with the US Army in Germany. He was First Lieutenant with the 37th Armor 4th Armored Division. He worked with Rea Construction Company for 20 years and retired from Sears Home Improvements Regional office in Greensboro. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church where he was active with the Boy Scouts. He coached soccer for both boys and girls teams with Kernersville Soccer Association. He coached also with Kernersville Little League. Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years Gwen Rogers Bradshaw of the home; daughter Dayna Bradshaw Rohrer and Chris of Stokesdale; son Dean Anderson Bradshaw and Meredith of Winston-Salem; grandchildren Lauryn and Shelby Rohrer, and Evelyn and Audrey Bradshaw; sisters Susan Bradshaw McLean of Safety Harbor, FL, and Vicki Bradshaw Innes and Jay of Arden, NC; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service on Monday at the church.
