Obituary of Madie Dean

Biography Kernersville-Madie Iona Dull Dean, 94, went home to be with her Lord March 28, 2012. Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be held 2:00PM Saturday March 31, 2012 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Dowell officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Gur Cemetery. A native of Forsyth County, Madie was the daughter of the late Emily Elizabeth Sizemore and William Nicholas Dull. She had worked for a number of years and retired from Adams-Millis Hosiery. She was married to the late Omer Roosevelt "Runt" Dean, Sr. in 1945. In addition to her parents and husband, she also was preceded in death by a daughter Val Marie Stafford, sisters Mattie Hubbard, Ruby Jackson, Irene Macy, and brothers Jody Dull, Aubrey Dull, Clarence Dull, and Oscar Dull. Survivors include her daughter Judith "Judy" Stafford of Pinnacle; sons Larry Stafford and Becky of Kernersville, and Omer R. Dean, Jr. and Darlene "Dusty" of East Bend; 6 grandchildren; sister-in-law Betty Dull of Kernersville; several great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. The family will visit with friends from Noon until time for the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
