Obituary of Lib Burns

Laura Elizabeth "Lib" Click Burns, a native of Davie County, born November 9, 1916, passed away peacefully May 2, 2012 at her home. She was the daughter of John Pinkney Click and Bessie Nannie Byerly Click, and the beloved wife of the late Lyndon "Joyner" Burns, who passed away October 20, 1973. She is also preceded in death by her brother, John Franklin Click, and her sister, Byerly Click Morris. She was a longtime member of Kernersville Moravian Church, the Kathleen Korner Circle of the Kernersville Moravian Church, and the Women's Auxiliary of the Kernersville Lions Club, the Founder and supporter of the Elizabeth & Joyner Burns Scholarship Fund at Wake Forest University and the Kernersville Moravian Church Pre-School Mildred Masten Scholarship Fund, and also a dedicated benefactor and supporter of the Korner's Folly Foundation and The Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden Foundation. Surviving her are: Eunice Click, sister-in-law, of Winston-Salem, NC H. Lester Morris, Jr., nephew, and wife, Gail, of Clemmons, NC Ann Click Moore, niece, and husband, Ben, of Mission Viejo, CA Judy Click Clark, niece, of Graham, NC Joy Click Jensen, niece, of Ranchos de Taos, NM Great Nephews H. Lester Morris, III, of Atlanta, GA, John E. Morris and wife Melanie, of Kernersville, Benjamin Eugene Moore, of Mission Viejo, CA, and Great Niece, Susan Moore Nelson and husband, Chad, of San Clemente, CA She is also survived by her "adopted children" all of whom she thought of as her own: Tommy Sears and wife Debbie of Winston-Salem, NC Susan Sears Snow and husband Charlie, of Kernersville, NC Laura Sears Grigg, and husband Carl of Kernersville, NC J. G. Wolfe, IV, and wife, Erin, of Kernersville, NC Cary Korner Wolfe, and wife, Mindy, of Kernersville, NC and Maria Melendez, Yeyme Martinez, and Iris Santiago her loving and faithful Caregivers, to whom great gratitude is expressed for the care and quality of life they gave Lib in her later years. A Funeral Service will be held 8:30AM Friday May 4, 2012 at Kernersville Moravian Church, with the Rev. R. Donald Winters officiating. Burial will follow in God's Acre, Kernersville Moravian Church Graveyard. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 7:30PM Thursday evening at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home.
