Obituary of Norma MacDonald

Kernersville-Norma Furneaux MacDonald, 78, died on May 7, 2012. She was born in Detroit on April 14, 1934, but lived a great adventure in Michigan, Florida, and Ontario, the open road, open seas and most recently North Carolina. Daughter to Randall and Jewell, sister to Richard. She was married to John for a while, and had daughters Cheryl and Lynne, and then married Mac, and loved Mac’s daughter Lisa. She adored, and was adored by her grandchildren, James, Katie, Brandon and Ian. She was a true renaissance woman; she could quilt, operate a ham radio, captain a ship, play the drums in the Salvation Army, make porcupine meatballs, re-wire a house, catch a fish, play the harp, help a friend, love her family and pets, and made a positive difference in someone’s life without even being aware of it. She was loved by more dear friends and neighbors in her life than are possible to name here; most recently Debbie and Lon, Kaye, Nancy, and Sally. She was most loved and admired by her daughters Cheryl and Lynne who were blessed to be able to call her mom. She is “anchor home” now, and, waiting for her on a not-too-distant shore are Mac, and at least a thousand others who were fortunate enough to know her while she lived in this world. She waits there now for the rest of us; coffee brewing. A time for friends to gather in her honor will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home, 213 West Mountain Street, Kernersville, NC, 27284. A private service will be held at her final resting place in Palm City, Florida. Friends and family may sign, and view, the guestbook at www.Pierce-JeffersonFuneralService.com Donations to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers. Service Information
