Kernersville-Fe Garcia Arasmo, 88, went home to be with her Lord July 20, 2012. Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be held 6:00PM Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Grace Presbyterian Church in Kernersville, NC with Pastor Randy Edwards officiating. A second service will be held at 7:00PM Thursday, July 26 at the Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Franklin Square, NY with Pastor William Shishko officiating. Interment will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, NY on Friday July 27, 2012 at 11:00AM. A native of the Philippines, Fe moved to the United States in 1963 with her husband Jose M. Arasmo and their three children Roy, Dean and Helen. Fe was a faithful and selfless wife and mother, and a devoted and loving grandmother, who taught by her example and found much joy in her grandchildren. Full of industry, she loved to sew, cook and bake for her family and friends, and enjoyed tending her beautiful garden. Fe was a dedicated school teacher for 43 years, teaching the elementary grades through college level, and four generations of her family, including her youngest sister Pat, who described her as full of poise and with a noble of heart, her loving niece Madeline and her beloved son Dean. Her last students included her grandchildren Jennifer and Brendan. Fe would receive calls from former students even many years later, thanking her for her influence in their lives. Fe was steadfast in her Christian faith, remembered by her family with her Bible open and hymns playing in her bedroom. She was a member of Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Franklin Square, NY until her relocation to North Carolina, which brought her to membership at Grace Presbyterian Church in Kernersville. She was preceded in death by her son Lloyd Dean Arasmo, sister Grace Defensor, and brother Horace Garcia. Survivors include her daughter Helen Ladeva Libby and Glenn of Kernersville, NC; son Earl Roy Arasmo and Eva Chang-Arasmo of West Hempstead, NY; grandchildren Jennifer, Brendan, Jason, and Matthew; sisters Rosalinda Togle, Willa Bat-og, and Patricia Lopez; brother Querubin Garcia. The family will visit with friends immediately following the services. Refreshments will be served following Tuesday's service at Grace Presbyterian. A luncheon will be held on Friday at the Orthodox Presbyterian Church after the interment.
