Obituary of Marjorie Wilson

Walkertown-Marjorie Anne Zinn Wilson, 81, passed away on Saturday August 25, 2012. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday August 28, 2012 at 4pm at Love's United Methodist Church with Pastor Sybil Parks officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Philippi, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Reva Zinn. She was a faithful church member for 49 years where she served as Junior High Youth Counselor, Sunday School Superintendent, Co-chair of Worship Committee, Life-long member of Lilly Young Sunday School and the recipient of the District Laity Award in 2006. She enjoyed her Walkertown community by serving on the Community Arts Board, Friends of the Library, Contact Ministries and Athenean Book Club. She taught 3 years in West Virginia and then retired from the WSFC School System after 27 years serving at East Forsyth Senior High School and the Career Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Jo Beard of Baltimore, Maryland. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Walter H. Wilson of the home; daughters, Debbie Lesley of Salisbury, Kathy Lambe and her husband Clarence of Kernersville, Mary Hutchins and her husband Wesley of Walkertown; son, Walter "Chip" Wilson and his wife Kathy of Kernersville; grandchildren, Blair, Erin and Ryan Lesley, Christopher and Zachary Wilson, Cameron Lambe, and Mallory and Reid Hutchins; great-granddaughter Kayla Wilson and niece Terry Carter and nephew Jeff Beard of Baltimore, Maryland. The family will visit with friends at Love's United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall following the service.
