Obituary of Claude Smith

Biography Kernersville-Claude Adolfus Smith, Sr., 84, passed away October 1, 2012. Memorial Service will be held 12:00PM Noon Saturday October 6, 2012 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on 5107 E. Mountain Street in Kernersville. A native of New York, Claude was the son of the late Harriette Miller and Claude Adolfus Smith. He was married to the former Margaret Morris October 2, 1985. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by his first wife Della Mae Calhoun Smith, sisters Verna Smith, and brother James Smith. He had worked for the US Postal Service in New York and retired in 1988. He moved to Kernersville in 2008 and battled liver cancer for the past several years. Survivors include his wife Margaret Smith of the home; four daughters and five sons; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Service Information
