Obituary of Linda Atkins

Mrs. Linda 'Rusty' Carol Atkins, 66, of Gibsonville, passed away early Monday, August 9th to be with her heavenly Father. During her life on earth she served as a caring wife, loving mother, and grandmother. A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, August 12th at Lakeview Memorial Park, with the Reverend Clyde Sellers and Reverend Larry Andrews officiating. Mrs. Atkins was born March 24, 1944, in Guilford County to Stiner and Sallie Gerringer King. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roy Lee Atkins, son Eddie Staley, brother Bobby King, and sisters Tula Willard and Frankie Burnette. Mrs. Atkins is survived by her daughter, Lisa King Davenport and husband Scott, of Gibsonville; son, John Staley, of the home; stepson, Bobby Atkins, of Brown Summit; sisters, Betty Graham and husband Robert, Molly Joyce and husband Sammy, all of Gibsonville; five grandchildren, Tommy Lyles and wife Jeana, Destiny Davenport, Brandi Davenport, Chris Atkins, and Angela Ambrose and husband Bryan; three great-grandchildren, Naomi Lyles, Jaida Nichole Davenport, and Lilah Natalia Davenport, and several nieces and nephews. Linda carried a special place in many people's heart and will always be remembered.
