Obituary of James Permar

Mr. James Edgar Permar Jr., 83, of Greensboro, died Friday, June 11, 2010 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 15th, at Lee's Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Carol Williams Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Mr. Permar was born in Guilford County, December 6, 1926, to James E. and Pearl Dickerson Permar. He served in the US Army during WW II. He was a member of Communication Workers of America, Telephone Pioneers and Lee's Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents his was preceded in death by his sisters, Elizabeth Nelson, Norma Browning, Katherine Keller, and Marie Owen. Mr. Permar is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Belle Morgan Permar; daughter, Teresa K. Bennett and husband Bobby, of Greensboro; sons, James E. Permar III and wife Tammy, of Randleman, Jeff L. Permar and wife Melanie, of Reidsville, Gregory V. Permar and wife Kathie, of McLeansville, Victor H. Permar and wife Kandy, of Greensboro; sister Ann Parrish and husband Delbert, of Greensboro; grandchildren, Jennifer Permar, Jeffrey Permar, Carrie Permar, Jacquelyn Sullivan and husband Andrew, and one great-grandchild, Caleb. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home and at other times at the family home.
