Obituary of Joseph Robert "Joe" Meyer

Mr. Joseph Robert "Joe" Meyer, 68, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully Sunday, March 26, 2023.

A native of Keyser, WV, Joe was the husband of 30 years to Patricia Beckman "Patti" Meyer and the son of C. Robert Meyer and Frances Thompson Meyer, both deceased.  Joe was raised in Hagerstown, Maryland and spent his youth shooting hoops and fishing in the Antietam Creek with his buddies.  He had a passion for playing the guitar, playing tennis and eventually pickleball.  He is remembered by his family and friends for his competitiveness, love of animals, kindness towards others and his sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife, Patti; sister, Mary Kay Slechta and husband, William of Massachusetts; niece, Jennifer Tavolieri and husband, Brian of Massachusetts; sister-in-law, Pam Beckman and husband, Joe Kucharski of Wisconsin; brother-in-law, Chip Beckman of Pennsylvania; and nephew, Colton Beckman of Pennsylvania; and cousin, Frank R. “Skip” Thompson of Washington, D.C.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Karen Ostrowski officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
