I only knew Gabe through what I saw on Facebook that Lee had shared. After reading through some of the comments here, I can see that there are many similarities between Lee and Gabe. I am so sorry for this great loss to not only his family but the community that surrounded him at school and the vending machine world. What an impact he had on so many lives. I send my sincere condolences to Lee and his family.

Gabe was an amazing guy, always making people smile or laugh. To a lot of people, he was the guy that was always shining.
I liked seeing him happy and laughing. but it also hurt me.
I went to Gabe's funeral service today.
I didn't know him super well but I was really torn about it.
I guess it hit close to home knowing what he was struggling with. Both the same age and dealing with similar problems.
knowing that he could have possibly killed himself hurt.
I could always tell he was struggling when I talked to him in class.
we were both struggling.
He had similar problems with controlling anger and emotions that I did.
But even when he was upset, he sacrificed his own happiness to make everyone else feel good.
I remember telling him once:
"Don't set yourself on fire, just to make the people around you warm"
I regret not talking to him more
I regret being rude to him sometimes
I regret changing schools
I regret not spending more time with him
I should have hung out with him more
I should have tried to talk to him about how he was feeling
I should have said something about the signs that I was seeing.
I'm so sorry Gabe
I should've been there for you
I'm so sorry for your loss.
nobody should have to go through what you did.

I’m so sorry to the family of Gabe for their tremendous loss. I was fortunate enough to be Gabe’s Spanish teacher the past year and a half. He always made people laugh and insisted on drawing crazy looking stick figure horses on the white board. He also consistently brought candy to share with others, specifically gum-balls, even though he knew I didn’t allow gum in class. I remember just recently for spirit week on “anything but a backpack day” he duck taped his book and notebooks to a gum-ball machine and physically carried it around school all day.
The Monday following the news of Gabe’s passing, I wanted to celebrate his memory, even if it was something small for my 1st period class which he was in. I tried to find regular sized gum-balls at several stores but they were difficult to find. Gabe was smart to invest in that business. I finally found a some and shared them with his classmates. Gabe would’ve been happy to know having gum in class on that day helped everyone remember him and I hate he missed it.
As I always told him, and all my students daily before they left my class, Gabe, eres hermoso, te quiero mucho, and I will miss you.

Gabe was a classmate of mine, he was always good at making people laugh. he had a great sense of humor and was really smart. I heard about his death through a friend and it hurt deeply. I saw him at walmart once, we were both in the electronics section, and we exchanged numbers. I wish i would have talked to him just a little longer. We dont know what we have until its taken from us.

Gabe and I weren’t super close, but he was my classmate. We kind of got on each others nerves (in a friendly way) but we were acquaintances. He used to take me and my friend’s stuff off our desk and run with it, he was a goofy man :(

I knew Gabe as Claw Time Vending on Youtube, and his videos were always so much fun to watch. He was so passionate about his vending business, and at such a young age, he was very inspiring. Im happy to say ive had the pleasure to talk to him over the last year or so, and he was always such a kind young man. Gabes family should be very proud of him, and the vending community will miss him dearly. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all.

I didn't know Gabe personally, I knew him as Claw Time Vending. He was a member of our vending community and he will be missed. I had just recently watched one of his YouTube videos and I thought "man good for this kid", because he was growing and really enjoying the business. My daughter Claire had made friends with Gabe, which was easy because he was a sweet person. One day we were playing inside and they were chasing me while I was trying to find peace to potty, so I grabbed a sheathed katana, raised it above my head and let out a growl, Gabe left smoke in his wake back to his house. I felt terrible, went to his house to beg for forgiveness, and his father laughed, but assured me he was OK. From then on, he always came over looking for things that he could have to sell, and I knew this kid would grow up a successful businessman one day.

Gabe spent many hours playing with Claire over the years since we were neighbors and they were classmates. The photo is from Halloween 2018 when they both dressed up as Harry Potter Characters (Gabe was Dobby). They had so much fun trick or treating in our neighborhood!

I was Gabe's third grade teacher. He was funny, smart, stubborn, and very perceptive. He added a lot of energy to the classroom. I'm so, so sad to see this young life cut short. May God bless his family with peace in this difficult time.
