Obituary of Jacqueline Amos

Jacqueline Lucille Souther Amos, 80, of McLeansville passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Beacon Place in Greensboro. She was the daughter of Rowe and Violet Souther of Brown Summit. A graduate of Rankin High School, she married the love of her life while a senior and he a sailor in the U.S. Navy. Her main goal after graduating was to take care of her husband and to raise her family which she accomplished greatly. It was her greatest pleasure to be a housewife and excelled at everything that interested her. She enjoyed spending her time engaging in various arts and crafts throughout her life. She especially enjoyed sewing for her family and granddaughters and working in her flower beds until she was unable to continue. Later in life she worked for the Guilford County School System as a substitute school teacher for a number of years being highly sought after by teachers all over the county and was recognized by the Guilford County School System for her work. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years, Dennis R. Amos, and a brother, Eddie Souther, Sr. She is survived by her three sons, Timothy Amos, Donald Amos, and Dwayne Amos; granddaughters, Savannah Amos and Adrienne Amos; brother, Tommy Ray Souther (Jean); and sisters, Lily Coble and Gay Souther.

A Graveside Service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, March 10, 2023 at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM the Thursday prior to the service at the Pierce-Jefferson Lambeth Chapel in Greensboro.
