Obituary of Thomas Don "Tom" Martin

Thomas Don “Tom’ Martin, 53, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully Sunday, February 12, 2023.

A native of Charleston, SC, Tom was the husband of 20 years to Pam Hedgecock Martin and the son of the late, Walter Thomas Martin and Yupa Martin, who survives. Tom graduated from Mount Tabor High School, Winston-Salem, NC. He was employed at Service Telephone and Equipment, Inc., Greensboro, NC as Manager of Technical Operations. Tom loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, kayaking, cooking, and Wake Forest sports. Tom also was a big supporter of his nieces and nephews' activities.

Survivors include his wife, Pam of the home; mother, Yupa Martin of Winston-Salem, NC; two brothers, Gregory Martin (Tammy) of Winston-Salem, NC, and Kevin Martin (Mitchell) of Matthews, NC; best friend, Darren Boyd (Kathleen); and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held 11:00AM Friday, February 17, 2023, at Sedge Garden United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Hester officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:00AM to 11:00AM Friday prior to the service at the church. There will be a reception in the church fellowship hall following interment.
