Obituary of Lucy Kathryn Johnson Shewbridge

Lucy Kathryn Johnson Shewbridge, 79, of Kernersville, NC, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 7, 2023. 

A native of Hampton, VA, Lucy was the wife of the late David Shewbridge and the daughter of William Johnson and Annie Woods Johnson, both deceased. Lucy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. 

Survivors include her daughter, Anna Kirstine and husband, Chuck; grandchildren, Cindy Bunn and husband, Dave, David Kirstine and wife, Mallorie, and Cory McGee and fiancé, Brooke; great grandchildren, Christopher Walser, William Walser, Nellie Kirstine, Tucker Kirstine, Taylor Blair and husband, Kurt, Olivia Bunn, and Kameran Bunn; great-great grandchildren, Kinsleigh Blair, and Kaden Blair; sister, Mary Lou Smith; niece, Jenni McCord and husband, Joey; and three great nieces, Innis, Conall, and Maebh McCord.  

In addition to her husband and parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammy Lynn McGee. 

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held 11:00AM Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Donald Martin and Rev. Dave Bunn officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Gur Cemetery, Kernersville, NC. The family will greet friends from 10:00AM to 11:00AM Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
