Obituary of Virginia Rankin Summers

Virginia was born in Browns Summit, NC to Alfred James Summers and Ethel Bobbit Rankin. She was the youngest of seven siblings, all who have predeceased her. When she was a child the family moved to North Church Street, Greensboro. There she resided until at 92 years old she moved to Friends Home, Guilford College, NC.

Virginia was employed by Jefferson-Pilot in the accounting department for her entire working career. Virginia was a long time member of Buffalo Presbyterian Church and cherished being part of the fellowship there.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews - Michael Summers (Brenda), Rachel Hudson (Willie), Ronald Summers (Sarah), Charles Davidson (Bonita), Jeanne Carter (Keith), W.O. Bud Summers (Cheryl), and Barbara Cross (Leroy) and numerous great-neices and great-nephews.

A visitation will be held for family and friends on Saturday, December 17 at 3:00pm at Pierce-Jefferson Lambeth Chapel, with a service to celebrate her life to follow at 3:30pm.
