Larry Breazeale Sr.

Obituary of Larry Franklin Breazeale Sr.

Larry Franklin Breazeale Sr., our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather has departed this earth. He left his earthly body on December 12, 2022 to join his beloved wife of 57 years, Judy Faye Weatherford Breazeale, and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Larry was a man of grace and unconditional love. He would truly do anything for those around him. Larry was born in the Bessemer area of Greensboro, North Carolina on June 09, 1943. Larry graduated from Bessemer High School in 1961. Subsequently, he joined the Navy following graduation. While serving his country, he married the love of his life, Judy, on February 15, 1964. It was raining heavily that day and they both thought that was a sign of good luck. Following the marriage, they moved to Norfolk, VA where he was stationed. When Larry was honorably discharged, the newlyweds moved to Greensboro, NC where their son, Larry Franklin Breazeale Jr. was born in 1966. Larry and Judy then had a daughter in 1971, Shannon Dawn Breazeale Lindsay. Four months later, with a newborn and a five-year-old, the couple moved into their permanent home in Colfax, NC. Larry was a life insurance agent at this time working for Prudential. He then went into the office supply sales business for many years working at S.T. Wyrick and Mitchell Dixon Office Supply. His final job was with Lorillard where he was employed from 1997 until 2012.

He loved watching old western movies with his son, fishing, and anything sports-related. He was an umpire and referee until he was in his 50’s. He was an Atlanta Braves baseball fan, Carolina Panthers football fan, and a huge fan for anything that the Carolina Tar Heels played in. He loved quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Larry and Judy spent a lot of their retirement years camping at Briarcliffe Campground in Myrtle Beach, SC. Larry dearly loved his church family at Central Baptist Church in Oak Ridge, NC. Larry had a heart of gold and was always there, no matter the circumstances. He had a way of making those around him laugh or smile, no matter how they may have felt. Larry was an old-schooled man who always put his family first and always had his door open for anyone.

Larry is survived by his two children and his son-in-law, Mark Frank Lindsay. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joshua Brock Breazeale, Ashley Nicole Breazeale Anderson, Jacob Daniel Lindsay, Mason Gabriel Lindsay, and Caleb Wyatt Lindsay. He was honored to be a great-grandfather to Ellie Elizabeth Anderson, Ryker James Anderson, and Wyatt Knox Anderson. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his parents, Margaret Elizabeth Rich Breazeale and William Frank Breazeale Jr. Larry was also predeceased by his great-grandson, Waylon Beckett Anderson. Larry will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved him.
