Obituary of Andrew Thomas Raiano

Andrew Thomas “Butch” “PaPa” Raiano, 76, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away peacefully Monday, October 3, 2022.

We are very saddened to announce the passing of our wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.  He was born in Utica, NY to Andrew Raiano and Josephine Cittadino Raiano on April 29, 1946.  He attended Utica Schools and graduated from Proctor High School in 1964.  He enlisted into the US Army in 1964 to 1968 and then began working at Associated Transport and later Red Star Express. He moved to Endicott, NY in 1989 and left Red Star to join ABF Freight and transferred to North Carolina.

Andrew married the love of his life, Jill Ann Kalies Raiano, in 1971 and had a wonderful 51 years together.  They had four wonderful children, Melissa Hinton and husband, Timothy, Victoria Phillips and husband, Tim, Andrea Hedrick and husband, Kelly, and Andrew Raiano and wife, Kelly; also his pride in joy five wonderful grandchildren, Marissa Phillips, Tim Phillips, Nicholas Titocci, Katelyn Titocci, and Jillian Hedrick ; four great grandchildren; two loving sisters, his twin, Jo Marie Voce, and Patty and Frank Albanese; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He never met a stranger.  He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants and loved fishing. We will always love you-Sleep Tight.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held 1:30PM Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel. Inurnment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Winston-Salem, NC. Following the inurnment, the family invites all to the home of Andrew and Kelly Raiano for a reception at 9864 North NC Hwy. 109, Winston-Salem 27107.
