Obituary of Gene Edward Clodfelter

Gene Edward Clodfelter, 86, of Jamestown, NC passed away peacefully Sunday, September 25, 2022. He was born Friday, August 21, 1936 in Greensboro, North Carolina. Mr. Clodfelter was married to Martha H. Hill on May 25, 1963. They have one special daughter, Kelli Alease Clodfelter. Gene was preceded in death by his mother, Vita Clodfelter Wilson and his stepfather, Fred Wilson; and grandparents, C.W. and Bertha Clodfelter.

Gene was an ordained Minister and Deacon and taught almost every age level of Sunday School and was a member of First Baptist Church in Kernersville. He most recently taught a mixed class of senior adults. He served as a team leader on the Forsyth County Ombudsman Council, ARC president and board member. He was active in starting the Special Children’s School in Forsyth County and also the Forsyth Group homes in Forsyth County. He held the rank of captain and was a moral leadership officer in the Winston-Salem squadron of the North Carolina Civil Air Patrol. He was also a Master Mason in Forsyth Chapter No. 707. He attended East Carolina University and graduated from Southern Bible Institute.

He retired early with 33 years of service within AT&T systems, as an information system staff member programmer analyst. He also taught computer training at Forsyth Technical Community College. Gene spent his life as a strong advocate for the disabled and elderly.

A time of visitation and celebrating his life will be held from 10:00AM-11:00AM on Friday, September 30, 2022 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel. Interment will follow at 11:30AM on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Woodland Cemetery, 3123 Indiana Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
