Obituary of James Floyd Dunn

Mr. James Floyd Dunn, 72, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully Saturday, September 24, 2022.

A native of Greensboro, NC, James was the husband of 53 years to Gwendolyn Howerton “Gwen” Dunn and the son of James Winford Dunn and Mary Collins Dunn, both deceased. James retired from Gilbarco Veeder Root, Greensboro, NC with over 48 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Gwen; step-father, Glenn Dunn; brother, Wayne Dunn; sisters, Helen Welker, Linda Davis, Kim Jones, Bonnie Sides and husband, Jimmy, Patty Edwards and husband, Heath; brothers-in-law, Donald Ray Howerton, Jr. and wife, Katie, Steve Howerton and wife, Robin, Kenny Sharpe and wife, Karan, and Keith Sharpe and wife, Angie; and several special nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sister, Tammy Harrison.

The family will visit with friends and family from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Gur Cemetery, Kernersville, NC.
