Obituary of Hazel Eva Mobley

On Friday, September 2, 2022, Hazel Eva Mobley, 70, passed away peacefully with her children at her side at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC.

Hazel was born on December 8, 1951 at her home in Bemus Point, New York to the late Bernice Mildred Mills and Carl Marsh. She graduated from Maple Grove High School in 1970. In 1977, she moved to Ocala, Florida to be closer to her mother.

Throughout her life she valued hard work and spent 20 years as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Marion County, Florida. She often received cards, notes, and calls for being such a dedicated and hard-working mail carrier. When she wasn’t working, she loved spending time with family, gardening, traveling, and time outdoors. Most recently, she moved to Greensboro, NC, to be closer to her daughter in May of 2022.

Hazel is survived by her partner, Robert Brunstedt; son, Herbert Hotchkiss (Laura); daughter, Athena Mobley; granddaughter, Olivia Hotchkiss; grandson, Clay Hotchkiss; sister, Julia Burke; sister, Bernice Ducat (Richard); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her sisters Rita Kohler and Alice Marsh.

A Celebration of Life is going to be scheduled near Hazel’s birthday in December of 2022; more information to follow.
