Beverly, Barry, and the rest of Lewis Kigers family I am so sadden to hear about his passing. I have very found memories of Lewis and Shelby. He was always so nice to me and my family. I remember when my Dad passed away in 1988 he came down and he helped us out when we needed it. Then several years ago when Mom was still living on Vicar Lane he came down just to come check on her and bring her some fresh vegetables. Mom passed away in 2021 and but I just remember how nice he was when he came down to visit Mom and they just talked. I will keep you all in my prayers.

My heart is broken with the passing of Lewis. He has and always will hold a very special place in my heart. When I was growing up my family went to church with Lewis and his family.Lewis was a deacon in our church. He was always smiling and joking. I was saved at the age of 15. There were 3 or 4 of us to be baptized on the same Sunday. We were asked to pick a deacon to say a prayer for us individually after each one was baptized. I picked Lewis Kiger because he was always so friendly, funny and nice to me. Before we were to begin he asked me if I was ready. I told him how nervous I was. He of course being Lewis talked to me and of course made me smile. After talking with him I was no longer nervous. When it came to my turn I remembered looking out in the congregation to see him. He smiled that big happy smile and winked at me. I knew then everything was going to be ok. After I was baptized Lewis Kiger stood up and prayed the most beautiful prayer I had ever heard. It touched my heart in a way that has lasted my whole life. I looked forward to seeing his smile every Sunday. I adored him! A couple of years ago I was blessed with being reconnected with Lewis. He had that same sweet smile. I realized instantly that the love I felt at 15 was still there. We hugged and both cried. Lewis Kiger will always hold a special place in my heart. I loved him dearly. My heart and prayers go out to his family. He was a wonderful man and he will truly be missed!
