Obituary of Jerry Gray Bovender

Jerry Gray Bovender, 77, of Walkertown, NC passed away peacefully Friday, July 29, 2022.

 

A native of Forsyth County, NC Jerry was the son of Marvin Odell Bovender and Barbara Jeanette Pugh Bovender, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He never missed an opportunity to talk about his niece, Nancy Bullard and her famous lemon meringue pies, and hanging out with his nephews, David Bovender, Terry Wayne Logan and cousin, Darrell Caudle. 

 

Survivors include his three sons, Allan “Al” Bovender, Todd Bovender, and William “Bill” Bovender and wife, Melissa; grandchildren, Bethani Fortune and husband, Shane, Sarah Bernard, Ryan Bovender and wife, Katie, Triston Vanhoy, Elliott Bovender, Hannah Bovender, Haley Bovender, and Joshua Bernard; great grandchildren, Emma Fortune, Paisley Fortune, and Melissa Bernard; and special nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, William Charles Bovender and his wife, Lib; and two sisters, Betty Pulliam, and Mildred Tuttle.

 

The family will greet friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Faith of God Ministries, Walkertown, NC.

 

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held 11:00AM Friday, August 5, 2022, at Faith of God Ministries, Walkertown, NC. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
