Obituary of Heber Allen Smith, Jr.

Heber Allen Smith, Jr., 78, of Kernersville, NC went to meet his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 23, 2022.

A native of Washington, NC, Allen was the husband of 54 years to Linda Ashley Smith and the son of Heber Allen Smith, Sr. and Ellen Chauncey Buck, both deceased. Allen was a long-time member and Deacon of Oaklawn Baptist Church, where he served faithfully in various capacities.

Survivors include his wife, Linda; daughter, Allison Smith; and very special friends, Clark Robbins, Dwayne “Bubba” Burnett, and Perry Reid. In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by his seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held 10:00AM Monday, February 28, 2022 at Oaklawn Baptist Church with Pastor Jay Boyce officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, NC. The family will greet friends from 9:00AM to 10:00AM Monday prior to the service at the church.
