Obituary of Edith Darlean Frogge Slack

Edith Darlean Frogge Slack, 92, of Greensboro, NC passed away peacefully Monday, February 21, 2022. 

A native of Pulaski County, KY, Edith was the wife of 66 years to the late William Harold Slack and the daughter of Frank Frogge and Evalena Correll Frogge, both deceased. Edith lived a long life praising the Lord, loving her church, and using her gift of music. She also loved gardening and reading, and always found time for her family and friends. 

Survivors include her three daughters, Glenda Slack Leonard, Deigh Slack Deaton and husband, Rod, and Diane Slack Carter; five grandchildren, Laurie Deaton Welch and husband, Matthew, Dawn Zeliff, Karyh Zeliff Maturino and husband, Jorge, Ashley Carter, and Justin Carter and wife, Stephanie; and five great grandchildren, Kayleigh, Benjamin, Jade, Christian, and William “The Little One”. 

In addition to her husband and parents, Edith was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Slack Zeliff; one sister; and two brothers. 

The family will greet friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Thursday, February 24, 2022, at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Lambeth Chapel, Greensboro, NC. 

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held in the Chapel of the Mausoleum at Westminster Gardens Cemetery. Interment will follow in the Westminster Cemetery.
