Obituary of William Henry Sell

William Henry Sell, 84, of Walkertown, NC passed away peacefully on Friday, January 21, 2022.

A native of Walkertown, NC, Henry was the husband of Nancy Flynt Sell and the son of William W. “Bill” Sell and Mary Elizabeth Westmoreland Sell, both deceased.

Henry graduated from Walkertown High School where he was an All-Conference Football player. He enjoyed his life growing up on the family farm and remained close to the land throughout his life. He was an avid restorer of tractors, vintage cars and antique machinery. Henry loved life to the fullest and had a keen sense of humor. He was a life-long member of Oak Grove Moravian Church and played in the Moravian Band. Henry was beloved by his family and will be missed by all that knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy; daughter, Ronda Sell Chapman and husband, Steele Chapman; grandchildren, Zack Chapman, Tara Lambert and husband, Joe Lambert, and Joe Chapman; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Chapman, Bailey Chapman, Cameron Chapman and Conor Henry Chapman; step-sons, Kelly Billings and Patrick Billings; and beloved dog, Sophie.

In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Sell Chapman; sister, Julia Sell Long; brother, Robert Alvin Sell, Sr.; and his beloved Cocker Spaniel, Nicky.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held 3:00PM Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Oak Grove Moravian Church with Pastor Matthew Allen officiating. Interment will follow in God’s Acre at the church. The family will greet friends from 2:00PM to 3:00PM Thursday prior to the service at the church.
