I remember the first time my Aunt Sandra Murdoch McMurtry Malone introduced Gerald to me as her husband. I wasn't around him much, but he seemed like a kind man. It's hard to go through death of someone that you loved & who loved you.
Prayers & comfort to all the family as you grieve his absence.

He was Mr. Malone to me for the longest time. Being Friends with his wonderful daughters and sharing many hours at his home while we were young, bring back so many memories and makes me smile. He loved his family so dearly and he loved his one love, Helen!
Living in Kernersville, my husband and son had the privilege of being a part of his Little League baseball teams!
He will be missed by many!

Gerald was a good man and a true friend. He will be missed but we know he is in a better place, without pain, and again with his true love, Helen. Prayers for his family. He loved them dearly.

My family and I will miss Gerald very much. He was always such a happy person to be around. I admired how he was able to keep a positive attitude even though he wasn't able to do a lot of the activities he once loved. I am praying for strength and healing for my grandmother Sandra after taking care of him these past few years. I know Gerald was very thankful for her and loved her dearly.

We will miss Gerald, his struggle over the last 3 years took such a toll on him mentally & physically, along with his wife Sandra, she hated seeing him go from being so active to not being able to do for himself. He was tough relearning to feed himself left-handed and so much more. Sandra and her family have fond memories of joking with him so much and of course talking about & watching sports together! We pray he is at peace & able to rest his weary body. Sandra Julie & family.

I will always remember Gerald for his positive attitude and sense of humor. He was always ready to help! I had the pleasure of playing softball with Gerald at FBC when he was well past his prime and older than everyone else on the team. He was playing because we needed him to play. I don't ever recall him making an out at the plate - it was line drive singles all the time! We were all quite envious. He passed along his athletic genes as I know many of his grandchildren are accomplished athletes in their own right. I remember playing softball with 2 son-in-laws (Tim and Craig) at First Baptist as well. Very good athletes as well! May your fond memories of Gerald be a comfort and joy during this time of sadness and in the days ahead.
