Obituary of Bernard Norris

Bernard Norris, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 27, 2019.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be 1:00PM Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Chapel.

Bernard was born September 5, 1938 in Tabor City, NC to the late Rachel and Ezra Norris. 

Survivors include his wife of over 24 years, Linda Murphy Norris; sons, Timmie Dale Norris and wife Donna, Christopher Paul Norris, and Scott Murphy; daughter, Michelle Tucker and husband Jim; grandchildren, Shannon Walker, Justin Murphy, Josh Tucker, and Julie Tucker; great-grandchildren, Gage Walker, Callie Walker, and Rylan Murphy; siblings, Bobby Norris, Chester Norris, LaRue Norris, Ronnie Norris and wife Tammie, Nancy Day, Pearl Hinson and husband Odell, Cloteal Norris and husband Fred, Cleo Fowler, Eunice Harrelson and husband Johnny, Ann Buffkin and husband Ronnie, and Sara Benton and husband Mark and numerous extended family members.

Bernard enjoyed gardening and fishing.  He was known in Kernersville for his home grown vegetables that he sold in the community. He was a simple man with a big heart, very loving.  He never asked for anything for himself, but was always concerned for others.

He said that Linda was an angel sent here by God to take care of him.
